About this tool

Telegram is a cloud messaging platform offering native mobile/desktop apps alongside open developer interfaces including the HTTP-based Bot API and MTProto client protocol. Telegram provides messaging applications for mobile and desktop devices alongside developer APIs. Teams may use a desktop client for daily communication or an SDK for a bot workflow. These environments have different network configuration paths, so proxy settings should be applied to the actual client or SDK running the task.

Key capabilities

Distinct client & Bot API runtime paths: Desktop and mobile apps maintain direct sessions for chats, groups, and channels, whereas bots communicate via HTTPS calls to `api.telegram.org` using long polling (`getUpdates`) or server webhooks.

  • Mobile and desktop clients:Telegram includes mobile and desktop messaging clients alongside developer interfaces. Clients handle conversations, groups and channels, while the HTTP-based Bot API lets programs process bot messages and events for notifications and service interactions.
  • Developer and bot APIs:Bots receive updates through polling or webhooks and call API methods in response. Client connections and bot programs follow different execution paths, so a desktop client’s proxy settings do not automatically apply to Bot API requests made on a server.

Where it fits

For business notifications, identify where the bot runs and configure its SDK or HTTP client there. To troubleshoot desktop messaging, check the messaging client’s own network settings instead. Verify connectivity in the same environment that sends or receives the actual messages.

  • Community management & automated bot services: Used for operating multi-account community channels as well as deploying automated notification, customer support, and workflow bots in Python or Node.js.
  • Desktop/mobile apps include built-in SOCKS5 and HTTP proxy settings, while bot scripts must configure proxies directly inside their HTTP client or SDK; Static ISP proxies are recommended for stable long-lived connections.

Set up your connection

Proxy support varies across apps and versions. Use a supported browser, device proxy client, or SDK; a universal in-app proxy menu is not assumed.

  1. 01

    Get your proxy details

Copy the host, port, username, and password from your MantaProxy dashboard. Use the actual details of your purchased proxy.

  2. 02

    Configure your environment

Choose the supported proxy protocol and enter your credentials in the tool, browser, device, or client that handles its network connection.

  3. 03

    Verify the connection

Check the exit IP and location, then save your configuration. If it fails, verify credentials, protocol support, and any required dependencies.
